6. b's free time

We did a questionnaire about free time in our class.
Most pupils watch TV and use computers. Many of us listen to music and play with friends on playgrounds. Some boys ride bikes through the town and play football.
We often go to movies with friends.
Some free days are special. We go to wellness centre Laško and enjoy swimming.
In last months it is popular that some girls have a stayover at the weekends.

Evelin ' s free time

What you like to do in your free time?

Evelin S. answers :

Together with my colleagues , we like to go to on trips , to sing , to walk , to play , and many other pleasant things . I study clarinet and piano everyday . They are the instruments that I play and I love it very much .

One day in November with our class master lady we walked through the town of Constanta ( Romania ) all day long .

EVELIN's favourite music

My name is Evelin and I'm 11 years old . I learn in Constanta in National Highschool of Arts "Queen Marie".
I really like classical music , house and other folk music . In my class girls choose another music . In Romania traditional folk music is a good music and I love it . I like also foreign formations such as 50 Cent , RBD .

Our favourite music

We like music very much. Girls listen to RBD, Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus) and Avril Lavigne. Boys prefer 50 cent, Bob Marley, Metalica and Green day.

The most popular music is pop, rock, metal and reggae. But some of us listen to classical music, too, for example Mozart.

Our favourite Slovene singers are Jan Plestenjak and Alya (see photo).

At music lessons we sing a lot of Slovenian traditional folk music like Ena ptička priletela (One bird has flown), Pleši, pleši (Dance, dance), etc…

In our free time we are together with our friends.

In summer we go inlines or skatboarding.

We train different kinds of sports, depending on which season it is.

In winter some of us train gymnastics, indoor bandy, icehockey or skiing and in summer many of us train football.

Most of us go scouting.

Of course we watch TV a lot, and play Nintendo or on the computer.

In summer it is very popular to jump on the big blue trampolines, that almost every family has in their garden.

Special food in Slovenia

We have some special food. We like štruklji (dumplings), ričet (thick soup with barley), pečenice (frying sausages), žganci (hard-boiled corn mush). We don't like krvavice (black pudding or blood sausages).

Our favourite special food is "potica". It's a walnut roll. We eat this dessert for holidays (specially for Easter and Christmas).
For making it you need: flour, yeast, eggs, nuts, sugar, salt. It's not easy to make it. Grandmothers usually bake it.

Answers from Sweden

How is the weather? Has spring come?

It is still cold and some snow left.
The days use to be grey and damp.
Snowdrops have started to bloom, and if you look carefully, you can see the leaves come on the bushes.
The birds have begun to sing.
Just now I can hear the great titmouse whistle titititi outside the school window.

Do you have any special food?

"Knäcke-bread" is flat, hard bread, that many people eat every day.We have many various kinds of hard bread.
We drink a lot of milk, and many of us have "sour milk" for breakfast.
Pancakes and jam are very popular.
Meatballs, potatoes, sauce and lingonberry jam is a traditional dish.

"Falu-sausage" is a kind of sausage that has its origin from the 1600th century.

In the cupper-mine, in Falun, thay had to kill a lot of oxen/bullocks to use their skin to make ropes of. They also got a loty of meat, and they used it to make a special - very good - sausage. Fried Falu-sausage and mashed potatoes is a very common dish in Sweden.
